• My Year In Music - 2006

    2006 was a great music year for me. Since I graduated college and have finally had a steady income, I've had more money to throw at buying music and attending shows, both of which I did in abundance this year. Here are the highlights.

    SHOWS:

    Ben Folds: I caught two Ben shows this year. Back in March or April (I can't remember), I made the trek down to Providence for the show at Lupo's. This might possibly have been the best Ben show I've ever seen. His set was about two and half hours, jam packed with new stuff from the EPs, classics (this was the first and only time I've ever seen him perform Underground), and great stories. The show began a little slow and Ben seemed to be very nit-picky about the sound, but I think it was because he was recording the show. I can't quite put my finger on what made this show so wonderful, but it was really one of the highlights of my year. I also went to NYC in early December to catch Ben at the Hammerstein. …
