A composer and performer of meditative solo piano music and reflective, inspiring songs.

Influences on the piano music include the minimalism of Steve Reich and the rich harmony and melody of Eric Satie, with hints of post-rock and downtempo electronica. The piano album Valentine Court was released in 2006.

An album of songs, Mindfulmess, is released in UK and Australia in 2012, blending songwriting influences such as Brian Wilson and Paul Simon with lyrics influenced by a Buddhist spiritual journey. The album plays like a mix of Ben Folds and Leonard Cohen and features stunning harmonies with delicate trademark piano patterns.

Rich began his musical training in the local Church Choir before exploring his love for vocal harmony further with the National Youth Choir and later the CBSO Chorus. Then, in the 1990’s Rich was lead singer and main songwriter with guitar outfits Serene Machine and Maroon and more recently, Beach Boys and Four Seasons band, Gidea Park.

Rich remains a major Brian Wilson fan and will often include songs from Pet Sounds in his live shows.
