Rich Webb: “Thumping wired alternative rock one minute,
the tenderest urban ballad the next…”

Melbourne singer-songwriter Rich Webb goes Overboard. Rolling Stone likens it to Nick Cave, Dylan, Kim Salmon, and Matthew Sweet.

“Overboard is thumping wired alternative rock one minute, the tenderest urban ballad the next. It’s an alarmingly inspired concoction, held together by Webb’s voice that howls and shimmies like a dust storm from the Mallee desert.” Fruition.

Overboard is “a gem of a record”, says DB Magazine.

First single Don’t Feel So Sad recently featured on ‘Best Episode Ever’ on the Oz Music podcast while a video for the track shot by Tom Harris in the groovy 50s-styling Lido Ballroom in Melbourne has been spinning on Australia’s main music show Rage.

Rich will be in Gemany and Holland in September/October 2008. This coincides with exciting news of the release of Overboard in Germany through Radar Music. Rich will also be showcasing at Berlin’s Popkomm music festival on September 19, 2008.

Overboard was recorded at Joe Camilleri’s Woodstock studios, Melbourne, Australia, with bassist/co-producer James McHugh (SEK, Stiff Kittens), drummers Ivan Khatchoyan (Oscillate, True Live) and Eugene Webb (Letcher), and lead guitarist Dan Luscombe (Drones, Paul Kelly). Mixing was by ARIA winner Paul McKercher (You am I, Cruel Sea, Pete Murray, Eskimo Joe).
