2. A band from Germany.
3. A girl group from Austria.
4. An band from Sweden.
5. A band from Estonia.

1. Rhapsody is a band from Italy, now known as Rhapsody of Fire. They incorporate music, and styles. The classical influences include such composers as Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Niccolò Paganini, and Antonin Dvořák. Their songs are also heavily influenced by power metal in general and their lyrics are fantasy-themed.

In 1997 Rhapsody released their debut album, Legendary Tales. Co-founders Luca Turilli and Alex Staropoli created an epic sound with this first album. Although neo-classical metal had existed previously, Rhapsody incorporated classical music, baroque and heavy metal styles in a new sub-genre known as “”.

In the years that followed, Turilli and Staropoli, joined by Fabio Lione on vocals, developed this new sound with their albums Symphony of Enchanted Lands (1998), Dawn of Victory (2000), Rain of a Thousand Flames (2001), and Power of the Dragonflame (2002). They wrote pieces such as “Emerald Sword”, drawing on Russian folklore and Celtic style elements and creating what was known as the “Emerald Sword Saga”.

Turilli is the band’s lyricist, as well as guitarist. His lyrics often refer to mystical lore from the medieval age and the heroic valor of those times, highlighting in particular the ever-lasting fight between good and evil.

You're not the only UK fan. The band were FAB at Bloodstock. Really awesome turn-out for them. I don't know why they continue to ignore the UK. Surely atleast a London show is do-able. I was glad that Luca brought his Rhapsody to the UK last year. Really awesome show. Just frustrating that in their entire career that Bloodstock 2011, Fabio (with Kamelot) and Luca's London show have been their own appearances on UK soil. :-(

I think Rhapsody really needs Luca, Fabio and Alex to really reach their full potential. Being a UK fan, I'm just waiting for them to play here properly. I think I'm the only UK fan though ;p

No they shouldn't. I really can't imagine Rhapsody of Fire without Fabio Lione. [2] But i also can't imagine a Rhapsody of Fire with Luca Turilli... :/

As always, Legendary Tales is so underrated. The title track and Forest of Unicorns shine like gems in their discography, not to mention the kickass opener that is Ira Tenax/Warrior of Ice.

Out of curiosity I checked Manowar's page to see if the troll posted there as well. Needless to say, you can't become more predictable and insipid than that.

But as a side project, that would still be a kickass idea! Or even a duet, why not? Agree though, Fabio is amazing, but it's not like he's the only outstanding vocalist in this world, these singers and especially Shikata (or Diamanda, in a demented way) have a very... personal, expressive way of singing, unsual the say the least. And sometimes it's good to try new things, I mean epic results can come out of collabs, especially when involving epic artists :)

They should replace Fabio Leone or whatever his name is with some demented Illuminati priestess like Diamanda Galas or Akiko Shikata or Jarboe. Their music would KILL! [3] Oh God. Don't let me dream of a Shikata/Rhapsody collab! That would be far too awesome and epic for our ears... Fabio is very good and the soul of Rhapsody, but collabs like this... damn hell yeah!

No, the pages should stay separated because they show different bands. Everything released up to the name change is credited to Rhapsody, while everything released after the name change is credited to Rhapsody of Fire. Those are, technically, different bands. It's the same story with Luca Turilli's Rhapsody.

@Astramiss: well, LTs Rhapsody keeps playing old Rhapsody's songs live. To be fair and do things correctly, "Rhapsody" should be stated as one group, "Rhapsody of fire" as another one, and "LT's Rhapsody" as a third. But since IMHO this is nonesense, I consider the three groups to be the same. At least for now ;)

I wonder why LT's rhapsody are being presented and scrobbled as old Rhapsody while they are two different bands?
