Biography

Retrobass (aka RB) is an independent british-asian electronic musician/composer, technologist and multimedia artist originally from London, UK.

In 2005, after dabbling in the world of sound & music production since early childhood, RB finally decided to share some of his experimental works with the entire world through the world wide web. After receiving much positive response from people around the globe , this later led to developing his own form of “positive-alternative” hiphop & electronica with the dark ambient retro-classical track “No Fear” and the popular, upbeat & catchy underground peace anthem, “Shanti OM” (2006) - an organic & unique blend of hiphop, drum n bass, industrial & alternative rock fused with elements influenced by his east-indian heritage. An early version of “Shanti Om” was pre-released online on World Peace Day (September 21, 2006) and received nearly 200 plays a day in the first week on Myspace. Earlier this year (2007), a cut-down version of the song was also used for the “Spread The Peace” online video project.

RB’s many influences span across a wide variety of genres and include the likes of The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, The Roots, Ice Cube, Asian Dub Foundation, BT, Metallica, Talvin Singh, Pendulum, Rage Against The Machine, John Lennon, Soundgarden, Mozart & Beethoven.
