Respek-BA has been writing rhymes & making beats since 1997. In 2003 he agreed to release his first record with Kriminal Records, a Glasgow-based label ran by Scottish hip-hop legened Big Div of the Major Threats. BA then moved to Glasgow & began recording an archive of new material, totalling over 100 songs. In 2004 BA began work as hype man for UK hip-hop legend, Blade. In 2004/5/6 BA & Blade toured around over 15 countries in Europe and almost every major city (& some less major ones!) in the UK. Also in 2005 BA began competing in battles hosted by The Jump Off, one of the top UK battle federations. After reaching a few finals up in Scotland, The Jump Off organsied a street battle in Glasgow's famous George's square, where BA went six rounds back & fourth with one of their Street Battle champions, Stig of The Dump. An already much talked about battle, BA came out the victor, moving on to The Jump Off's yearly tournament "Spin The Mic", in which the winner takes home a thousand pounds and earns himself a trip to America to face their current champions. BA battled 5 times that night, winning four & loosing in the final to Whats His Face. Although he lost, BA broke down alot of barriers that night eliminating four MC's in the center of London, including another victory over Stig in their re-match. In 2006 BA plans to release a yet untitled album with Marrik Layden Deft, from Street Cypher records. This will be a collaborative effort between Kriminal & Street Cypher, & it will be release before the end of the year on CD & vinyl. BA is also working on a few other 12"s here and there, continuing with the Jump Off battles & the Blade tour dates. Shit is getting done this year! WATCH THIS SPACE…
