There is more than one artist called Reload: 1) Ambient/Electronic collaboration between Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton. 2) / band from France. 3) // band from Poland

1) Reload, originally, was a Mark Pritchard solo project. Later, Tom Middleton joined Pritchard on some of his Reload releases, and “& E621”(the name of a chemical flavour enhancer) was added to specify Middleton’s involvement/flavour enhancement on a track (Reload & E621 - similar to the set-up with Link & E621). Eventually, as Tom became more heavily involved on the Reload “A Collection of Short Stories” album, the “& E621” was scrapped, and Reload came to mean both Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton.
All four Reload Remixes (not including the two on the Mystic Institute “Cyberdon EP”) were done by both Pritchard and Middleton, jointly.

Reload, in its current incarnation, is again, Mark Pritchard solo, with a pending release on Warp records scheduled tentatively for 2011.

The Pair is probably most well known as Global Communication, releasing ambient and house music. Their debut LP, Global Communication - 76:14 is one of the most acclaimed albums from the ambient music genre and from 1990s electronic music in general.

As a duo they have also recorded as Jedi Knights making new electro, as Secret Ingredients making House Music, as The Chameleon making chilled out drum-n-bass, and Link & E621. Together they formed the Evolution Records Label and Universal Language Records Label. They “split up” in 1997 to pursue solo careers, but “reunited” in 2006 to release the Fabric 26 DJ-Mix Compilation.

    Even then: Reload is mostly a work from Pritchard, though sometimes Middleton added his knowledge in tracks like "Soleil et la mer", "Ehn" and so on.

    A misunderstanding. There are several artists who are called reload! It is not a rock music artist here. Only electronic music here. By Mark Pritchard and Tom Middleton!

    Following a hiatus of nearly 15 years, UK-based production duo Global Communication will reunite for a gig at the SCI+TEC showcase during Amsterdam Dance Event next month. Global Communication will appear twice at the party during ADE next month, first for an ambient set in AIR's main room and later in the second room for a more eclectic DJ set. "We can tell you this," say Middleton and Pritchard, "We will span many genres and eras, and explore our inspirations from early '90s techno, house, ambient and electronica right up to the cutting edge of modern production." Other DJs on the bill for that night include Dubfire and an unnamed "very special guest." The return of Global Communication is not limited to ADE: Middleton and Pritchard say they will play a series of live shows in 2011, and plan to begin producing new music together as well.

    I heard a few tracks from the Theory of Evolution group, and then I come to realize that the men behind Reload are also behind Global Communication. I must track down their albums now. The Biosphere is such a wonderful track.
