Hailing from the Washington, D.C. area, Redline Addiction is an alternative rock ensemble whose musical influences range from early 90s grunge to modern hard rock to folk. Originally formed in 2005, Redline Addiction completed its current line-up in June 2007. Shortly thereafter, Redline Addiction was signed to upstart label Counterpoint Records LLC.

Rooted in a variety of musical genres, each individual member’s unique balance of talent and style facilitates Redline Addiction’s familiar, yet cutting-edge sound. This sound can be heard on the band’s first full-length album, Goodbye Miss Dolly (2008), which has been described as “full of energy” (“Redline Addiction, XXQs,” Penseyeview.com, April 11, 2008). In November 2009, the band released St. Elmo’s Four - a collection of four hook-laden songs showcasing the band’s dynamic range.

Redline Addiction is currently recording two full-length records as a follow-up to Goodbye Miss Dolly. One is more acoustic-based; the other is heavier hitting. Both are expected to be released in the coming months.

Redline Addiction continues to build on its local support by playing various venues in the D.C. greater metropolitan area, and is expanding its influence throughout the East Coast. Redline Addiction has participated in the Baltimore Music Conference and was selected as the featured band for the 2008 Washington Humane Society Dog Walk. Redline Addiction’s music was highlighted in The Science Channel’s Feast of Predators, where the group wrote, performed and recorded an original soundtrack for the television show. Its music has also been played on radio shows like DC101’s Local Lix and 98 Rock’s Noise in the Basement. Most recently, Redline Addiction was featured in MTV’s TJ (Twitter Jockey) Search Competition.

Press for Goodbye Miss Dolley:

> “A Craving for Speed and a Love for Music,” The Frederick News-Post, April 10, 2008

“When you hear their music you will soon detect an eclectic mixture of sound that is nowhere near novice. In the tune, “Everybody Knows,” you can hear a hint of Kiss and the late ‘90s group Lit. You get my drift – there is some serious radio play ahead for this band.”

> “Redline Addiction, XXQs,” Penseyeview.com, April 11, 2008

“he Redline Addiction is part of the charge to put the power back in the musician’s hands; to show that success comes from creativity, not from some pop-star recipe of redundancy.”
