There are three artists with the name Redemption:
1) Redemption is at the forefront of the US progressive metal scene. Founded by guitarist / songwriter Nick Van Dyk, Redemption features legendary vocalist Ray Alder of Fates Warning, guitarist Bernie Versailles of Agent Steel, bassist Sean Andrews and drummer Chris Quirartewho is also in the progressive metal band Prymary.
After releasing their eponymously titled debut release in 2003 on Sensory Records (a release which featured guest appearances from Mark Zonder of Fates Warning and Jason Rullo and Michael Romeo from Symphony X), van Dyk made a significang statement with 2005’s follow-up, The Fullness of Time, the first CD featuring Alder as a full-time band member and featuring the production of Tommy Newton (UFO, Conception, Helloween). Garnering acclaim from the press and the public, The Fullness of Time cemented Redemption position as an up-and-coming force in progressive metal.
In 2006 the band signed a multi-album worldwide deal with Inside Out Music, and in 2007 released its third CD, The Origins Of Ruin, again produced by Newton. After headlining the Headway Festival in Amsterdam, the band embarked on a five-week North American tour as direct support for Dream Theater. Playing for thousands of fans a night and establishing a reputation as a compelling live act in addition to a top studio group, Redemption’s momentum is building.

I agree with Liquid Eternity. I see serious potential in this band in certain aspects of their material, but as so many other bands, they are trapped in the walls of the "Prog metal" cliche. I'd really like to see Van Dyk try something different at least writing wise. Lyric-wise I think they are already really strong.

They're alright. What Will You Say is a brilliant song, but approximately fifty percent of their material leaves me kind of cold--their silly and endless solos for one. Slightly weaker than Shadow Gallery, stronger than modern Dream Theater, not as cool as Pain of Salvation, cooler than Symphony X... but absolutely deserving to be lumped in with these prog metal bands.

I didn't mention it only because I haven't heard it. I've been looking for it for a while, but I can't find it anywhere. I don't think I'd like it as much as the other albums though because I really got used to Ray Alder's voice and love it!

New album's pretty good, but a step down from OoR and even further from Fullness of Time. Here's hoping they hit an upward slope with the next one. Still makes for good listening though. Really like LaBrie's guest spot. What Will You Say and Love Kills Us All/Life in One Day are the best tracks in my mind. Last 4 make the album.
