1 Radiohead - OK Computer
Using the textured soundscapes of The Bends as a launching pad, Radiohead delivered another startlingly accomplished set of modern guitar rock with OK Computer. The anthemic guitar heroics present on Pablo Honey and even The Bends are nowhere to be heard here. Radiohead have stripped away many of the obvious elements of guitar rock, creating music that is subtle and textured yet still has the feeling of rock & roll. Even at its most adventurous -- such as the complex, multi-segmented "Paranoid Android" -- the band is tight, melodic, and muscular, and Thom Yorke's voice effortlessly shifts from a sweet falsetto to vicious snarls. It's a thoroughly astonishing demonstration of musical virtuosity and becomes even more impressive with repeated listens, which reveal subtleties like electronica rhythms, eerie keyboards, odd time signatures, and complex syncopations. …

#5 Affirmation - Savage Garden
Great follow up to their debut album Savage Garden but sadly their last studio album. Highlights for me are The Animal Song, I Knew I Loved You and Crash and Burn.
#4 Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers
The timeless Red Hot Chili Peppers release yet another fantastic album. Lots of goodies in this one; Maybe my favorite Chili's song(?) Road Trippin', Around the World, Scar Tissue, Otherside and Parallel Universe to name a few. And of course one of my favorite music clips ever the title track Californication.
#3 Neon Ballroom - Silverchair
Follow up to Freak Show and much awaited on my part. …
27 Aug 2008, 18:59 by c-rebehnFor all day now, I've been listening to songs about/from California, mostly the ones eekgeekface once sent me, plus the ones everyone knows and the ones I always had just because.
So well, staring at the screen all day, including Google Earth distances to LAX for the AI flightplan for the Flight Simulator I'm working on right now, and listening to that music, you get somehow carried away. And when I look out now and see the grey, dark, rainy sky, I know I'm at home. And it makes me sad. I would be sad without the music anyway, but it makes me feel like the moment of getting ripped out of this enviroment has just been. You could say it keeps me close to the memories. You could also say it keeps the wounds open, not letting them scar. Open wounds hurt, and they could get infected and get worse, as we all know.
It's only been ten days since I left L.A. but it feels like an eternity. On one side, I don't want to let go of it, to accept that it's over and will drift further and further away…

Answer the questions based on your current top 50 artists (as listed in your overall charts).
1. How did you get into 25?
Apparently I have so many 22s that I only have a 26, which is Strong Bad. I first got directed to a random sbemail in an irc channel.
2. What was the first song you ever heard by 22?
I've got three 22s, apparently.
Beck: Dunno. E-Pro, more than likely. I might have heard something earlier and not realised it was his.
Ilan Zagoria: Oh, no idea. He's my uncle, so I've heard his stuff since ages.
Klaus Badelt: Well, whichever one is the first track in Pirates of the Carribean...
3. What’s your favorite lyric by 33?
At the moment it's Big Huge Games, but that's actually Duane Decker. None of the tracks I have of his have any lyrics.
4. What is your favorite album by 49?
Bethesda Softworks, which is really Jeremy Soule's work (who I'll talk about here). The original Total Annihilation sountrack, definately.
5. How many albums by 13 do you own?

I think if someone were to ask me, "What's your favorite Smashing Pumpkins song???" I would reply with, "Soma. No question." This is just what I think I would say if ever asked in person. Sometimes I just cannot control what comes out of my mouth - But the SOLO! OH HEAVENS THE SOLO!
Head Home (3:57-end)
The first solo in the song (2:47-3:14) is just as cool and very buzzy, which is one of my favorite guitar effects, but the second solo takes the cake and smashes it in my face like...like.. I don't even know. Maude?
Repetitive and not very complicated, but signature Lindsey Buckingham just the same. It's the kind of solo that allows - when done live - to take on whatever form, attitude, or mood the guitarist feels at the time. It's like, you can look up the tabs to the solo if you want, but really all you need to know are those 3 or 4 notes being hit, at whatever speed or variation you choose. …
