As individuals in Calgary, the members of Red Autumn Fall had already gained certain notoriety for sartorial elegance and their widescreen lifestyles before even playing a note! Which, in itself, seemed like a good enough reason to form a group in April of 1992. Simeon Ross, ace raconteur and self-styled Blazer Boy, took on lead vocals and rhythm guitar. Ex-boxer Rich Ragany, became the lead guitarist while Jackie Duncan, the “quiet one”, played melodic bass and the Great Gail Thompson drummed.

The group quickly established themselves as an exciting live act and strong word-of-mouth filled venues from Winnipeg to Vancouver. Along the way, they opened for Oasis at the Commodore Ballroom and performed at Mixfest in the Calgary Saddledome for an audience of 10, 000 people. Red Autumn Fall became the only band from Calgary to have sold out the 700 capacity MacEwan Hall twice! Ross was also the prime force behind the independent music festival Panacea, which showcased unsigned Calgary bands for three years, while raising money for the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. The group attracted high-profile management and was the buzz band at several music industry conferences.
