Biography

Raymond Plaza was born in Yuma Arizona on July 14 1982. He is the youngest of 3 children and was raised in both Gadsden Arizona and Snowflake Arizona.
Raymond started his musical venture at the early age of 10. He started out singing in choirs and ventured on to making his own band named “Sylpher” in high school. After high school he ventured out to Phoenix and started a band named “12023 izem”. He had some side projects with the band “Tribis” that was also formed in Snowflake and were good friends of the band “Sylpher”.

After some solo projects he and his former Sylpher drummer Todd Johnson, decided to create a experimental side project named “Corona Della Volpe”. The name came from the combination of Corona, which was Raymond’s mothers maiden name and Della Volpe from Todd Johnson’s side project he was going to call “Regalo Della Volpe”. They decided to combine the two names since it was a duo project they were working on.
From Corona Della Volpe a self title CD was produced after the break up of the band by Artist and former Sylpher, 12023, and Corona Della Volpe guitarist Chris Mighton and Raymond Plaza. The CD was produced and finished in 2007 but was never marketed.

After the release of the album Raymond Plaza went back into his side projects again and joined up with long time friend and guitarist Chris May and started the band MayRay, with Raymond Plaza on the drums and vocals and Chris May on guitar. The band played a couple of shows in the Seattle area and recorded some tracks but nothing was ever produced.
