Guess who co-wrote Call Me with Blondie? Giorgio Moroder!!! Wouldn't shock me if Ray Lynch was secretly paying homage to G. Moroder with this track. Fascinating stuff, right? Hello? Anyone? <dead silence...dead crickets>
Yup, Blondie's in there. But the two are sooo different. Making that connection is like catching a home run ball out in the parking lot. I so loved Blondie's work. Ahh, the days when MTV was young and actually played music. I also loved Debby Harry's trademark spaced out expression. See the similarities? (<----).
80s New Age at its finest...definitely a seminal track for its era. This song made Ray Lynch's career although the album does not stand the test of time very well unlike some Yanni, Tangerine Dream, etc. from that same period of sound.
