About this album

Out of the Cellar is the breakthrough album by glam metal band Ratt, released in 1984. Produced by Beau Hill, the album features their best-known hit, “Round and Round”, and other hits such as “Wanted Man”, “Back for More”, and “Lack of Communication”. Out of the Cellar was a spectacularly popular success, though critical praise was initially limited. Amongst pop music intelligentsia, the band’s unique brand of pop sensibility was written off of pedestrian and proletarian. Regardless of this, fans bought up the new sound Ratt was helping to usher out of the streets of Los Angeles and into the living rooms of Middle America. Not only is the album now considered to be some of the best material Ratt produced, but it is also considered an exceptional highlight in popular music during the 1980’s and a necessary metal classic. It is an RIAA certified Triple Platinum album.

Out Of The Cellar is also noted for its’ strong musicianship , most notabley from guitarists Crosby and DeMartini, who were both lauded for their individual yet complementary playing styles.
