Along with Al Stewart, probably the best instrumentalist of his time among the classic singer songwriters, but no mean hand with lyrics either (remember Streets Of London?). This is a lot bouncier and happier than most of his stuff, which I confess I prefer (especially Daddy's Here or Michael In The Garden).

Also, if anybody's interested, as I've said elsewhere, anybody who likes Tom Paxton, Phil Ochs, Harry Chapin, Leonard Cohen and other great singer/songwriters are invited to listen to my NoMoreSongs Radio, which specialises in such music.

As I've not seen this on Last before, I hope it's due to my recently downloading about five Ralph McTell albums. I would have thought the new folk revolution would have rediscovered this seminal artist, but not so far, it seems. I recommend his Daddy's Here, Terminus, Michael In The Garden, You Well-Meaning Brought Me Here and Mrs Adlam's Angels for beginners. Brilliant guitaring, great deep voice and excellent lyrics!
