    This song defninitely seems to be a sort of prayer/request to the Universe/powers that be not to hurt him, and take him into its arms once he 'gives up the ghost', his own mortal soul.

    @Ennish I'd highly recommend you find a good vinyl rip of the album (particularly the 2 45's edition). It sounds far more "open" in this case on that format.
