Hm... are a folksy band from Prague, Czech Republic. Their playfull songs are often based on the 20th century Czech poetry (Wolker, Šrámek, Kainar, Sova, ...) or the original lyrics usually written by Petr Kotouš.
The Czech indie band Budoár staré dámy (Old Lady's Boudoir) representing a home-made alternative rock band was founded during the summer holiday of 1999. All members come from Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic, located in the region of South Moravia.
Visací zámek (“Padlock”) is a Czech punkrock group formed in 1982. Today, they are considered the most legendary Czech punk band, as they've kept the same lineup for over 30 years. They highly inluenced a whole generation of Czech punk bands and inspired lifestyle and philosophy of young people in former Czechoslovakia.

Daniel Landa started his musical career in an oi! band Orlík (founded in 1988) which has become the most successful oi/punk racist band in the Czech history. Landa continued as a musican unlike the other members. He's been playing music in a range of rock ballad and nationalist songs though without racist themes.
Marta Kubišová is a Czech singer of iconic significance. Born in 1942, she gained notoriety during the Prague Spring of 1968 and was banned from performing in Czechoslovakia until 1990. She was a signatory of Charter 77 proclamation. During the Prague Spring, she recorded over 200 SP records and one LP, Songy a Balady (1969), which was immediately banned from stores.
Petr Hapka & Michal Horáček, two excellent Czech authors of many of the most precious songs well known through the generations. Their works are often used in movies. They are also known for remarkable noble character of their music often sharpened by best Czech or Slovak vocalist, chanson singers, contrabass or piano.
