Biography

Rachel haircut are James Hewson and Hayden Quinn, 2 boys who met in 1998. The music they make spans decades: future garage meets 90s gangster rap. Witch House meets 70s Vintage Synthesiser music. Their live shows are exhilarating, their studio works: aurally engulfing.

Rachel Haircut will launch Reserve EP in early August, and will be available free online. Reserve EP is Rachel Haircut’s romanticised version of 90s rave culture. It takes the listener from a dimly-lit, heavily-carpeted room, where avant guarde synth records spin until 5am, to the epicentre of a laser-filled warehouse rave. Female vocals fall in and out of the four moody tracks, which culminate with a ten minute, two-part title track, a piece that evokes a darker side of RH with synthesisers that sing in remorse.

They communicate through the waves of the temporal sea via AURAL SECTS as well as their own transmissions along the following wavelength.
