    Who cares what Malkmus likes? It's a good song, regardless of his opinion: Pavement has had it's own peaks and valleys too, more pronounced too, imo.

    There's just something so special about the instrumental melodies of their early albums that is unlike the majority of rock music. I love their later albums for their achievements sonically and lyrically, but there certainly is a unique flair to songs like this.
