Eschewing the typical wave-calm-wave pattern of instrumental rock, QiD’s songs erect cascades of affected melodies over dubby bass textures and cataclysmic drum fills. Often moving into free-form improvisation during live shows, visuals are spontaneously created by the instruments themselves. The sound has evolved by incorporating electronics and new composition methods, even moving into avant-garde territory, but is still filtered through a subjective post-rock lense.
