It would appear you are a guitarist, and thus, your opinion doesn't count :) sorry but the Queens are dead to me... such a shame after three brilliant albums.

when will people realise that Nick isn't coming back and Grohl on drums for SftD was for a temporary basis? People need to deal with it and move on. Though I have to agree the bass needed serious work (Alain Johannes anyone) especially on LtP. But the basslines are far snappier here, still muddy in parts but definitely a step in the right direction. This album isn't their worst (it's LtP imho) in fact as a stand alone album it is good and solid. You can listen to it all the way through without skipping over tracks, that's the deal breaker for me if I'm honest. But back to the track at hand - River in the Road has to be my favourite track on the whole record. Must have listened to it three times in a row when I first got the album.

Simultaneously frightening and riveting, like a freight train threatening to derail at any possible moment. One of their absolute best songs.
