About this album
Era Vulgaris is the fifth full length studio album by American hard rock band Queens of the Stone Age. The album was completed in early April 2007 and released on June 8, 2007 in some countries, June 11, 2007 in the United Kingdom and June 12, 2007 in the United States. The tracks “Sick, Sick, Sick” and “3’s & 7’s” were released as singles in early June, with a third single “Make It wit Chu” released around Halloween of 2007.
The album debuted at number fourteen on the U.S. Billboard 200 charts selling 52,000 copies in its first week, which was a decline in comparison to the previous album, which opened at number 5 with 91,000 copies sold in its debut week. In other countries it has reached much loftier debut positions, mostly in the top ten, such as number five in Canada where it sold approximately 10,000 copies in its opening week. The album debuted at number nine at United World Chart, selling approximately 149,000 copies worldwide in its first week.

I think this is a step down to most of there stuff, They need to use there talent in creating those catchy guitar riffs a little more. 3's and 7's was good. I still listen to this album quite a bit but not as much for Songs for the Deaf

quite a dirty sound on this album, feels darker than previous output, and I agree that it can be hypnotic.. I have enjoyed all QoSA material over the years and this album, as usual, delivers more unique great sounds and tracks. can't understand the hate personally.

Misfit Love, Suture, Battery Acid, 3s and 7s, Into the Hollow, River in the Road, Make it wit chu, Sick Sick Sick. I think Run Pig Run is one of Queens' most weakest songs so they have some miss here. It's still great.

this album is fucking crazy. been listening to it since it came out two years ago and after all this time it keeps growing in me. its pure genius, it has the darkest and heaviest sound of all qotsa's albums, maybe since songs for the deaf, but unlike that album, era vulgaris is controlled chaos, vulgar display of power and shit

This album is amazing :D its really hypnotic and kinda mellow at parts, probably one of my favourite most distinct albums of all time, and defenitely the best album to get high to haha.
