We Believe (6:08)

Cover of The Cosmos Rocks

From The Cosmos Rocks and 3 other releases

“We Believe” was written by Brian May. It is the longest song on the album. It is mainly sung solely by Rodgers, but the end does feature singing from all three band members. An edited version of the song has been released as a promo single in Italy.

Roger Taylor, 2008 BBC Radio 2 (with Johnnie Walker):

“This is very much Brian’s song, that one, in which I think he sort of puts his views on everything, you know - on the state of everything according to him … It’s very, it’s very well meant, you know. ‘There’s no evil that we didn’t have a hand in’, I think is quite well put and, yeah, it’s a sort of statement.”

Queen is Dead man, although Freddie Mercury will live on forever , from the ashes of Ruins Rise a new Phoenix , fresh and new supper group with the influence and sole of what once was

The Cosmos Rocks album is kinda grown on me since first time i've heard it, you know. Especially things like 'We Believe'. It's not as bad as they call it, at all.

I usually don't tend to like Queen with Paul Rodgers as frontman, at least when it comes to cover recordings of old Queen classics. But this song appears to be a masterpiece again!

I love the guitar bit with about a minute and a half left of the song - so very Brian May! The whole song is, really, and it is a damn shame that people don't give the song a chance and instead complain about how "Paul Rodgers is not Freddie!". Give Cosmos Rocks a chance - it's not Queen, it's not Paul Rodgers, but a wonderful marriage of the two.

It is a good song. I try not to compare it with Freddie, since there will never be another Freddie, but it is so hard to listen to this man. His name is Paul "The Voice" Rodgers. What voice is that agian?

Hey, this song isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. If people would just listen to the song as its own entity rather than compare it to Queen with Freddie.. it's a great song.

I agree. Cheesy is the word that springs to mind. It's kinda Lionel Richie meets Chris de Burgh. Drivel. The only good thing about it is that it lasts 6 minutes- not 8 or 9... I can't believe Paul Rodgers agreed to sing something like that... And to think they decided to leave TAKE LOVE off the album... Not to mention absolutely amazing cover of RUNAWAY...

this is probably the worst thing that came from any version of queen, including solo albums of its members. the only thing that was worse than this one was the same song played live with brian on vocals. pure tragedy... brian, please, don't try to save the world in every song. 'is this the world...' was bad enough, don't make it even worse...
