Biography

Qoph are a swedish band blending 70’s rock with stoner and progressive rock. The experimental and improvisational aspect of their music is usually very prominent; long jams and odd time signatures are very frequent, although the melodies are usually quite catchy.

Qoph were originally founded as a three-piece instrumental band by Federico de Costa drums), Filip Norman (guitar) und Patrik Persson (bass) but became a quartet by adding Robin Kvist on vocals. Their first album ”Kalejdoskopiska Aktiviteter” (Record Heaven, 1998) has lyrics in Swedish; on their second album “Pyrola” (Nasoni, 2004) Kvist sings in English. Both albums have also been released, with additional tracks, on vinyl.
