About The Host
Jian Ghomeshi has been the host of Q since its inception in 2007. He has also been host of, or contributor to, a variety of other CBC radio and TV programs including The National Playlist, Sounds Like Canada, 50 Tracks, Zed, The End, and The Hour. He spent three years as the host of the Gemini Award-winning CBC Television program, Play.
Jian has conducted feature interviews with an array of Canadian and international guests on Q. Among them are artists, politicians, celebrities, and cultural figures, including Woody Allen, Ornette Coleman, Shirley MacLaine, David Cronenberg, Phil Collins, Marjane Satrapi, Salman Rushdie, Chick Corea, Sarah Polley, Naomi Klein, Paul Anka, and William Shatner.
Before coming to Q, Jian worked with many arts groups including the National Ballet, the COC and the Radio Starmaker Fund, and he is a former member of the Board of Governors at the Stratford Theatre Festival.
