Twang Lounge Pop Recycling … and more
Twang (n.) A harsh, quick sound, like that made by a stretched string when pulled and suddenly let go; as, the twang of a bowstring.
The Purple Sex Heads (Mutz: guitar & vocals, Maxx: bass, Piet: brushed drums) come up with a very unique and slightly wacky concept of Pop, Rock, Punk and film music. The Purple Sex Heads are mostly interpreting other people's songs, but do so with their own adventurous musical vision. A minimalistic, twangy sound, good taste in music, a healthy dose of subtle humour and lots of attitude and style. In the Purple Sex Heads' book less is more. The three so-called „Masters Of Tranquility“ rework original song material by Tom Waits, the Dead Kennedys, The Smiths, Kraftwerk, Kylie Minogue, the Talking Heads, Henry Mancini, The Clash, the Beastie Boys and many more. You'll hear a cool combination of classic Twang guitar, smoothly flowing Lounge-, Surf-, Latin- und „Slo-Mo-Punk/Rock“- grooves and a lead voice that combines it all effortlessly. And there's a whole lot more. Just when you think you've heard it all, the guys will pull out some hand-picked original PSH compositions or some really obscure songs to keep you guessing. Something strange and sensational is going to happen every time Mutz, Maxx und Piet conjure up their patented „Twang Lounge Pop Recycling“. It can happen intimate setting (your living room).
