ah, the glory and gorgeousness of early pulp. sexy as hell: jarvis' lyrics & voice, that crazy bass & keyboard ambiance. honestly, i don't understand people who think that pulp songs began w/ His n Hers.

I was amazingly lucky to hear this live during a sound check for their Eden Sessions gig some years ago - I couldn't believe it, was like a dream. Amazing. I also own the original 7 inch which I won for being the youngest member of their fanclub back in the mid 90s!!

I find it impossible not to sing the last line of this song - the sun and the moon and the stars all came down today...

This tracks is intriguing me. A cheap drum beat, one single unvaried keyboard tone like *eeeeeeee*, a great bass rif that kicks in eventually (tup-tup-tup tup-tup) and of course Cocker's mystic voice. And somehow, t works. The darkest kind of britpop ever made.
