I've read it's a sarcastic nod to Repo Man. All products seen in that movie were generically labeled (i.e. "beer", "food (meat flavored)") with the same font and blue/white color scheme. "Sarcastic" because John Lydon was pissed off at Alex Cox for Syd And Nancy. Flipper noticed the similarity themselves though, and thus put out an album called Public Flipper Limited.
