I barely listen to hip hop, but damn this album is good and I do not regret picking it up on a whim.

Despite this album just being freakin' awesome, it also made me realize how many other hiphop artists used the same samples in their material way after this album was released. Sick. I love making connections like that.

"Released: 15 Oct 2007"? Jesus, I really hate it when they reset the release date every time they do a reissue.

This is not just a classic. This a masterpiece of music! A copy of this should be in the Smithsonian, if it is not there already.

"Fear of a Black Planet", it's not any more smooth but that noise siren-like sound I'm guessing you talk about is not as prominent. Plus there's lots of more awesome samples creatively blended together that gives it a more funk sound than the "noise" trademark.
