3rd Storee formed in 1997 in South-Central Los Angeles, California and had four members: Kevontay, D'Smoove, Jay-R, and Lil Man (now known as K. Young). The group sought to succeed groups like New Edition and The Jackson Five, and were given that chance when they were signed to Edmonds Entertainment by Tracey Edmonds.
Isyss is a singing group that had moderate success in 2002 with singles "Day and Night" featuring New York rapper Jadakiss and "Single for the Rest of My Life". The name "Isyss" stood for "Intelligent Sexy Young Soul Sisters". The group originally consisted of Letiecia Harrison, Ardena Clark, Lamyia Good (sister to Meagan Good) and Quierra Davis-Martin.
Svala began singing publicly at the age of seven when she appeared on her father's Christmas album. At the age of nine, she dueted with him on another of her father's albums. During the mid-90s, Svala joined Scope, an Icelandic electronica band that released an album with its only hit, "Was That All It Was?"
