Biography

For more than a decade, the German Electro-Wave-Band Project Pitchfork delights thousands of fans worldwide with a unique mixture of danceable beats, breathtaking melodies and deep lyrics. With 10 albums, 6 eps, and more compilation appearances than you can shake a stick at, Project Pitchfork have reached the status of “masters of electro-goth music”.

Since 1994 every album released by the band entered the Official German Charts, and they have been nominated twice for an Echo Award. In 2002, the french director Jérôme de Missolz was so fascinated by Project Pitchfork’s music, performance and philosophy, that he featured the band in his movie “Zone Reptile”.

Besides a 12 minutes concert footage shot especially for the film, the music of Project Pitchfork is present throughout the whole motion picture. The lyrics of the songs are often used to express the main character’s emotional inner world, becoming an important part of the story-telling process.
The band is also very famous for their energy and intensity on stage: their live-shows are known to be legendary. They toured extensively and played hundreds of shows all over the world, exciting the crowds in countries like Canada, Brazil, Argentina, the United States of America, Norway, Sweden, England, Belgium, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Italy, Greece, France, Latvia, The Russian Federation, Austria, Switzerland and, of course, Germany.

After about a half of year I can only say that "Blood" is surprisingly good, and for me, it's the best album of "new" Pitchfork. Anyway, "Dhyani" is still my favourite, and nothing changed in it. :')

Blood is a superb album! I'm guessing Last.fm hasn't realised its an album yet, which would fix a lot of errors and anomalies when the companies decide to put it up.

Hm, the first track is not the worst, but for me it's totally average. My favourite is Blood-Shed (Dark River).. such a shame, nobody likes this as me. :/ Anyway, I still think that "Blood" is great. One of the best albums of "new" Pitchfork.

I agree skinnydrifter... the first song is weak as hell. I really enjoyed Give Me Your Body, Just For My Pleasure and Thirst... all other songs were just average to me. But those three had great elements of industrial/EBM and well done electronics and more aggressive vocals. Those songs just reminded me of the early Pitchfork that I miss. Still three songs on one album that I liked is good for current Pitchfork!

This album deserves a better opener, I see Blood-Line (Never) the most played track (because of lack of album/single lead on this album) and that is further than the truth. It's a weak opener and it'll throw a lot of listeners off
