Project Bluebird is a collaborative musical project, founded by Nancy Pontius. In August, 2009, the project released a new album of original music, Hummingbird Mona Lisa. Another new album is Egyptian Violet. Earth Folk is a collaboration with writers around the world.
Icarus is another album in progress which is a collaboration with writers from the mad pride movement, mostly The Icarus Project and there are links on the main page as to where one can donate to Mind Freedom International and The Icarus Project.
Another album in progress with a few downloads so far is Nancy Drums which is mostly compiled of percussion pieces dedicated to Leonard Peltier. There is a link on the main page where you can donate to his cause.
Now there is a new album in progress so far with one bluesy folk piece: With Heart
The album Rose Colored War, featuring the late Terry Mclain, rose near the top of the charts at soundclick.com. It is from 2006.
Full tracks from these albums, as well as tracks from earlier albums are available on last.fm.
Major writers involved: Lizzie Woolfolk, Eisy Murphy, Andrew Buckle,Loree Jo Tipmore, Ramblingvine, Terry McLain, Mike Welch, Mike Loghry, Joseph Lima, Piotr Kolasinski, Neal Bilbrey and Nancy Pontius, plus many more writers around the world are involved.
The project has worked with Eric Dahlman, Eric Baldoni, and Eric Royer. They have produced an album, Project Bluebird With The Erics. Also Mike Mayo plays on some of the pieces with Eric Dahlman. He also added onto and remastered the piece “An Arousing” from a poem by John Trudell.
