Princess One Point Five, or P1.5, began life as Sarah-Jane Wentzki – a small, angry young girl – writing loud experimental pop songs about mean boys and the problem with being very earnest.

When her previous outfit, i want a hovercraft, collapsed in a rather impressive ball of flames, the private songs that had emerged during that time formed the basis of her debut album At Long Last … music that grew out of influences including Massive Attack, My Bloody Valentine, Mirah and François Breut, but quickly found its own heartfelt, cinematic pulse.

Aside from the whole swag of impressive guest musicians who’d been involved previously, long time friends and collaborators Richard Andrew ( Registered Nurse, Underground Lovers ) and Andy Papadopoulos ( Kinderland, Deborah Conway ), on drums and bass respectively, came in to form the core “band”.

The rest, as they say, is history.

P1.5 was reborn as an interchangeable, adaptable, revolving carousel of genres, cutting a swathe across Australia as an impressive live act upon the release of their sophomore offering, The Truth .

The Truth is the work of a more mature artist, musically and emotionally. It is an introspective and unique work, collaborative, revealing, and an artistic triumph over deeply extenuating circumstances.

With the first single ‘Turnaround or Thereabouts’ receiving a ton of airplay on JJJ and RRR and an Inpress Magazine ‘Single of the Week’, the album continues on an exhilarating (and slightly scary) upward trajectory.
