“Batdance” is a song by Prince. It was the first single released from the 1989 album ‘Batman’. Like many Prince songs, it mixes elements from a variety of genres from to to to and so on. It also features a number of audio clips from the film.

The song was a huge success. It hit the #1 spot on three charts— ‘Dance Music/Club Play Singles’, ‘Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales’, ‘Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks’, and the ‘Billboard Hot 100’. It also hit #18 on the ‘Modern Rock Tracks’ chart.

    "i can't believe this was a big hit for him... it's definitely his worst song. quite possibly the worst song of all time. i seriously do not understand all the fans below." The reason for me is that it's such a fun track. But I can see it's not going to work for everyone.

    Also, man, how cool is Prince? Cool enough that he sent a chaotic combination of samples, quotes from unreleased songs, tossed-off funky instrumentation (the bass!), relentless drum machines and a kickarse guitar solo to #1 on the Billboard charts! (... for a week.)

    If it was not the soundtrack, instead of "bust that body" would be "fuck that body" :) I love this. Prince had a great idea to paste the voices of characters from the movie to song.
