The best track off D&P by far

In addition 2 that, the majority of Japanese pop fans tend 2 like songs dominated by minor chords (ex. the Original Caste's "Mr. Monday", a Japan-only huge hit from '71 which incidentally has same chord progression as this song on its chorus) and Prince fans, who always tend 2 oppose against the mainstream (well, at least in Japan...most of the mainstream pop lovers here r not accustomed 2 funkiness) didn't accept this song's "accessible" melody. Well, at least I think it's rather funky, which about 50% of the rest of D&P album is not.

One critic said that the song was merely a house-oriented recycle of "When Doves Cry" and others were disappointed by its "cleanly programmed" sound, contrary to the heavy funk of "Gett Off" which preceded the album release. They tend to like "Strollin" better, just because it was recorded in Japan during 1990 tour.

why? Oh wait, it's inexplicable. Unexplainable. I think they're wrong.

For some unexplainable reason, this song is most hated among Japanese Prince fans....
