During the early 1990s, Kevin McMahon started the industrial rock band Prick. Prick was eventually signed to Trent Reznor and John Malm's Nothing Records label. The band's debut self-titled album was released in 1995, with Reznor producing four of the album's ten tracks. Prick's lead single, "Animal," received high rotation on MuchMusic and MTV, and Prick opened the US leg of Nine Inch Nails and David Bowie's Outside tour.…

  • Prick, the puppet, reaches over his head and with a stroke slashes himself loose of his creators strings in hopes of becoming, individual. He falls and rises and falls again. He walks awkwardly and behaves, thinks and communicates awkwardly. Temperamental and unpredictably gentle. What is obvious to others is complex and splendid to him and what is accepted by others is questioned by him. Prick, the imagination.
  • recently discovered that roughly half the sonds on the 1995 S/T record previously appeared in a slightly different (more glam rock) form under the Lucky Pierre moniker in 1988.
  • This is my favorite album to listen to when only crappy/blown speakers available -- it holds up well in Lo-Fi. I saw Prick open for NIN and Bowie -- amazing concert!
