We Carry On - as with most Portishead Songs - isn’t afraid to wear its influences on its sleeves. This time around, it’s The Silver Apples. Particularly the songs Pox On You and Oscillations. The Silver Apples are an early electronic act from the 60’s that used homemade oscillators and percussive instruments in their performances. Like Portishead, the Silver Apples were also heavily inspired by film noir.
