Wilson has this talent of making a simple song turn mindblowing in some or the other way.

Autotune and pop are ruining the music industry.

The sad truth. There's nothing like fun music every now and then but now even "fun" music is mediocre. No one should need autotune to make their act. Not even playback. It's plastic production for the masses.

Great song, I like the message. I think that most people just want 'fun' out of music. They don't want to experience the whole emotional spectrum because that's too confronting. The message can't be too difficult or political either. Most people just want to live in a cocoon of happy thoughts with the accompanying music. But "It's only meant to repress and neutralize your brain".

Steven Wilson is a genius. Amazing song and incredibly performed, mixed and mastered.

Actually, it is kinda true. Have you seen how popular Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are? That is because few people care about artistic music, they just want catchy tunes and hot singers. So yeah, this is very true. Radiohead is still popular, so maybe there is hope... [2]

Who gives a shit about mainstream music anyway? It has always sucked, people have never cared about art except for small numbers. At least nowadays you can use the internet to discover genres and artists that were completely off limits to you before. Then again, this song is almost ten years old, so maybe Steve didn't think of that. Or maybe he hates the net as much as he hates Ipods. Strange man.

This song doesn't speak the truth. Mainstream music today isn't completely bad, "music as a wonder" isn't "going down", and people still care a lot about music.
