The band was formed in the beginning of 2004, when several persons, with a backgound in in the DIY hardcore/punk scene or widely considered underground, pursued an attempt to remould the hip-hop cliche. Since then the very formula has evolved in a natural manner. “Definicje” - the debut album - is a mass of accumulated sound - unfriendly, unwanted, ineffective from the perspective of music industry economics, pushed beyond the margins of pop-cultural norm. These sounds are deeply rooted in the tradition of punk, noise and industrial rebellion, where the primary reference to hip-hop resounds a deflected, though still distinct echo. “Definicje” remains also a large dosis of social and political criticism - in touch with the surrounding context. Finally, “Definicje” means creating a situation, as a result of which aesthetic and background-based differences obliterate. A characteristic manifestation of this attitude are contributions of several other artists, appearing as guests on the album: from the freeform joyous noise experimentation of Wroclaw-based KZK and overtly improvised parts of wind instruments, played by Noisegarden (from Warsaw), through street-declaimed speeches and declamations of a poet - Konrad Góra, who recites John Cage’s statements as well as ones of his own, to strictly hip-hop rhymes of Roszja (Sfond Sqnksa, Roszja i Lu) and Saulik’s (ex-Me, Myself and I) beatbox. The hip-hop platform is by it’s own very means a broad spectrum of exercinsing an impact - still PA does not entertain an ambition to realise itself within the boundaries of a specific, definite aesthetics.
