Point Juncture, WA, is a five-piece band based in scenic Portland, Oregon. The five pieces are called Victor, Amanda, Jesse, Wilson, and Skyler. Mixing in a little prog, a little emo, this insanely creative, slightly dissonant mathy rock outfit has a way of drawing you deeper into their emotional landscape with each song.

Point Juncture, WA has nailed that three-dimensional mastery where layers upon layers slip between each other, breathing in and out with the utmost elegance and meaning. Starting off with dub-inspired beats, bringing in tastefully economic guitar, reverberating vibraphone and poignant keyboards, then tilting the angle with their consistently mind-blowing vocals (both guy and girl), this gang is making Portland most proud.

All details aside, the overall impression is one of sincere, genuine music-making; these four guys and a girl put their hearts into every sound, every silence and every breath, reminding us that the magic of music happens in the subtleties and the vulnerabilities. We shall say one more thing. The place—Point Juncture, Washington—isn’t real. The band is the place. The band is real.

Pt juncture is a basement indie band that has been around for a while. They are particularly entertaining to hang out with and have a good stage dynamic that seems to be led by amanda on the drums. I haven't seen them in a couple years so I don't know if their lineup is the same; there's a lot of cross-polinating that has come out of that scene. I have to disagree entirely as this being a emo'ish band..These guys have never played portland's emo venues. They gig at places that sell expensive infused beverages to people with desk jobs.. And if its getting played on kexp its most likely chamber pop given the 130 bpm tempos. Its not mathy, but however there is a hint of twee in it, as there is in much of portland's basement scene. They definately have some madder rose roots ( 90's independent pop) which is probably where they got in on the kexp rotation. I really enjoy the different phrasings that happen when the drummer is also a lead singer. These guys are adorable.

I also discovered them via the KEXP podcast and hell yeah! I think with the comma is the correct tag, though KEXP tagged without. But KEXP can be sloppy when it comes to tagging.
