Biography

Produced and organized by early hip-hop impresarios Arthur Baker and John Robie, Planet Patrol walked an intriguing line between electro and the classic Motown sound. The quintet of vocalists (led by Herb Jackson) only produced one album, but it is one of the few classic LPs of the electro era.

Surprisingly the Planet Patrol-sound is very recognizable today. The production-sound has penetrated today's music on a major level. On any given night out you'll be probably listening or even dancing to a Arthur Baker inspired or produced track.

Whenever "Play at your own risk" comes on my iTunes library I start walking around mouthing the lyrics and it makes me feel like a badass. Probably because mouthing the lyrics to this song ACTUALLY DOES make you 45% more badass... I googled it.
