Plague of Yeti was an experimental post-punk/math rock band from Chicago. Heavily influenced by bands such as NoMeansNo, Drive Like Jehu, The Jesus Lizard, Mothers of Invention and Devo, their music combined punk heaviness with a busy and complex aesthetic in an unusual and fairly original manner for the time. They succeeded at this strange merger frequently, if at times the challenge of the concept manifested itself. Definitely among the more interesting young bands around Chicago during the late 90’s and early aughts, sharing the stage with fellow manic acts as Gaji, Thrones, Wesley Willis and Lozenge. Members: Dmitri Bayonov (Patrick van Slee) — guitar; Rene Dahinden (Josh Reier) — bass; Lt. Col. BS Karapetian (Jason Allen) — drums.
