The Physical Challenge started in February 2001 in Corvallis, OR as joke/cover band called Marc Summers and the Physical Challenge. The band was made up of 4 college students that just played for fun. After about 5 months of playing covers the band started to mix in some originals, play real shows (not just house parties) and went through a member change. Over the next 6 months more originals were written, less covers were played and more member changes took place. After about a year of playing shows together the band dropped Marc Summers from the lineup and just became the Physical Challenge. In May of 2002 the band recorded their first real demo with 5 originals. Over the next year the band worked hard to get better, played lots of shows, did a west coast tour, and went through several more lineup changes. In May of 2003 they recorded the 5 song EP “Some Still Care”. The record came out in August ‘03 with a supporting tour at the end of the month. After 2 1/2 years, 14 > different members, 2 tours and a record under their belts the band called it quits.
