Phil Lesh, who recently turned 70, has a full summer schedule with the Grateful Dead’s latest carnation, Furthur. Furthur, featuring Phil Lesh & Bob Weir, will be performing throughout the U.S. this summer. Furthur is also scheduled to perform at Bonnaroo Music Festival, All Good Festival and Nateva Festival along with their non-festival tour dates.

"We never heard Coltrane live after the band started, so it was the recordings we would lean on," remembers bassist Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead. "Mainly it was [i]Africa/Brass[/i]. Bill Kruetzmann really got off on Elvin's drum solo on 'Africa'; of the other guys, it was pretty much the whole composition and the way it all developed, the use of the horns and stuff like that.
