About this album
On this album Gabriel explored the pain of recent personal problems; his failed first marriage, his relationship with Rosanna Arquette, and the growing distance between him and his first daughter.
The album was supported by the “Secret World Live” tour, named after its ultimate track, “Secret World”. The tour spawned a live album and a concert film. The album was also promoted through a first-of-its-kind interactive multimedia software released for Macintosh computers called Xplora1: Peter Gabriel’s Secret World, which featured several music videos from the album.

I recently bought the remastered version of Us and was sorely disappointed. A friend turned me on to last.fm by pointing me to Us here. I am eternally grateful to find this in it's original form. The remastered version sacrifices all the beautiful nuance that's on the original.

This is my favourite of Peter Gabriel's albums..So many images and emotions here with which i can totally identify with!..and i want "Secret World" to be played at my wedding..or funeral :) or both. For me, it's the perfect love song. Nobody can write love songs like Peter Gabriel <3 and "Digging in the Dirt" is deeply healing and purifying song. .So strong feelings!One of the most important albums of my life.
