Perttu Kivilaakso

Perttu Kivilaakso started playing cello when he was 5.
He got into the Sibelius academy, where he met Eicca Toppinen (founder of Apocalyptica). He played his first Apo gig when he was 16 but then Eicca told him he should finish his classical career first.
So he did and joined the Helsinki Phil, where he played first cello.
Antero Manninen replaced him in Apocalyptica until he was ready to come back, what he did in 2000 before the recording of Cult.

He’s been working on a solo project for a bit more than a year now. A cd of classical pieces, one where he plays the guitar and sings and a third one.
