Songs from debut album have so low positions, especially radio-friendly Jetpacks Was Yes. i'm surprised

@Riktenkay: I don't know man, as much as I loved their old stuff when Misha was the main songwriter, I like the direction they're going in now. This Time It's Personal is easily a more cohesive and polished album than the debut. CLEAR was also a great demonstration of what each member is capable of. At the end of the day a band is supposed to be a collaboration, not one person dictating everyone else's musical direction.

@Riktenkay. did you pull that nonsense out of your ass? there is no PROBLEM with periphery. the problem is not with them, its with you. whatever you perceive as the "periphery sound" is exactly that. what YOU perceive it.

    last week
  • Riktenkay

The main problem with Periphery is that Misha decided to let other people write music. I'm not saying they're all terrible at it, Mark and Nolly at least have some real writing skills and everyone in the band is a great musician (except maybe Spencer), but the problem is that the only person in the band that writes music that has that awesome Periphery sound is Misha.

Spencer is growing on me... Maybe I'll finally be able to fully enjoy this band. And all of their songs, not just Luck as Constant...

Yeah, he surely got better over time. In P2, I actually think he adds to the music, and I'd rather the regular version over an instrumental one. He just didn't have a lot of time to practice for P1, that's why they added an instrumental version

Clear is fantastic. I really appreciate the concept where each member of the band contributes a song, is in control of their own production etc. I'd love to see similar releases from other bands.

Instrumental P1 > Regular P1 [2] I gotta agree there, I never liked Spencer. That being said, he's slowly growing on me for better or for worse and I really enjoy the Clear EP.

I'll be completely honest here... Clear is by far my favorite release of theirs. Feed the Ground is just fucking awesome.

Their new EP is pretty good, although it's their most accessible material up to date. It's good to see some new influences in their music, especially on tracks like Feed the Ground or The Parade of Ashes.

the only reason i hate clear is the fact that it's fucking clear

"They said they won't probably be playing anything from Clear on tours. I have a feeling they just had to release something this year for contractual reasons or something lol" - well that sucks.

His new EP leaves much to be desired and although the rhythm is still good, the vocals are the horror

  • ReaIis

Yeah, I dig the EP, too. It's experimental, but sticks to the classic Periphery theme. Personally, I don't see why there's so much hate behind "Clear".

PTH's singer does have a great voice I won't deny that, I just don't like the melodies he sings a lot of the time. Still a great band though.

The first album is a masterpiece and anyone who doesn't like it should probably just give up listening to music.

  • Mysiak15

Ok, I don' get why you're pissed off of "Clean". I like this EP, more than 1st album I think. Like @erisedVirgo said, that's EP, experimental CD, wait for their new album and don't listen "Clean" if you don't like it.

    January 2014
  • erisedVirgo

Riktenkay you're a fucking idiot, Protest the Hero's singer has a wonderful singing voice so if spencer started singing like that it'd still sound good. Second; Spencer's vocals have barely changed, there are some differences through-out the album but nothing big so stop acting like they're super different. Third for you and everyone bitching about clear it's an amazing EP that was just an Experimental album and just because it doesn't live up to your god high expectations doesn't mean it's bad you fucking twats. If it isn't good enough for you then wait for juggernaut. Besides they don't have to live up to YOUR standards just their own. Sounding like bieber? Are you fucking stupid?

    January 2014
  • Ondskapet

So calm your tits everyone, juggernaut will be the periphery you all love, hate or love to hate. They're not even planning on playing songs from Clear live.
