@jeffradick what are you on about? just like you can prefer a certain album to another album by the same band and so on, you can prefer AUGUSTINES to Pela aswell. both great groups with a similar sound. i personally prefer AUGUSTINES. Never knew i was crazy.
25 Jun 2012, 4:50pm
To anyone who says they prefer Pela to We Are Augustines you're crazy, it's the same, absolutely was the same sound, maybe you prefer Anytown to RYSS. Almost all the songs on RYSS are Pela songs, aside from Book of James which wasn't ever recorded or played as a Pela song but is a masterpiece. Billy is Billy and Billy was Pela. Before We are Augustines you could watch Pela on youtube playing almost every song on RYSS, most have been removed though. Here's a link to Juarez though by PELA, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOSneLsJp88

Anytown Graffiti is such a fantastic album. I wish these guys hadn't split. I prefer this sound over We are Augustines.

4 Nov 2009, 9:27pm
What?! They were discussing possible new material jst last May ... Bummer indeed! Reminds me of Sound Team's fate : fatally underrated bands!

19 Sep 2009, 1:53am
terrible news that they split up. one of the most slept-on bands of the 21st century. i hope you caught them live when you had the chance.
12 Apr 2009, 5:19am

Man, Billy's had a rough life. Being in a band isn't all sex, drugs and rock n' roll.
7 Jul 2008, 11:26am
recently created an interview with pela :: http://musicisart.ws/?p=618
9 Jun 2008, 2:40pm
Have they ever recorded Philadelphia?
5 Jun 2008, 3:34pm
Saw these guys rock out in Denver and they absolutely killed. Best show I've seen in a long time. I love the album.
31 May 2008, 6:46pm
I saw them at Sasquatch too, and I can verify that they killed it. They just fuckin rocked! That was, I'm gonna have to say, the second best set of the weekend (behind Okkervil River).
28 May 2008, 3:19am
Just saw these guys at the Sasquatch Festival. Absolutely KILLED. One of my favorite shows of the weekend.
12 Apr 2008, 6:07pm
I think it is pronounced Payla, and rhymes with Kayla or Hey la. At least that is how I heard it on the radio.
8 Apr 2008, 3:38pm
Billy has thousands in medical bills. If you can, we should all help : http://www.pelamusic.com/ to donate through paypal.
4 Mar 2008, 10:51pm
rest of the tour canceled. frontman falls off stage, onto a pintglass, shreds the shit out of his hand. torn tendons, etc. everybody loses!
17 Feb 2008, 5:41pm
Shoegaze? Post-Rock? Come on! It's getting ridiculous!
6 Feb 2008, 7:26am
how do u pronounce their band name????
10 Jan 2008, 4:44pm
yeah so far i can't get any higher impression of pela other than they sound like a more poppy version of the national. it's not bad, but it's not like...awesome. you know?
10 Jan 2008, 7:08am
...don't just stand there... Louisville would love to see you guys, Bravo!
17 Dec 2007, 8:11am
I'm NOT attempting to troll. But I do want to say that I got a hold of this album after reading all the positive comments here and hearing a couple of samples and I have to say I found Anytown Graffiti *very* uninspiring and rather bland. I really dislike slagging music, but just wanted to drop my 2c... but glad the rest of you guys are enjoying it... and I might come around later, who knows?!
18 Nov 2007, 10:47am
anytown graffiti is a solid album.
7 Nov 2007, 3:32am
Pela - Anytown Graffiti is in my top 3 of album of the year, behind Modest Mouse and Against Me!. Cheers Fellas, Spectacular Album. Daan

Anytown Graffiti is so incredibly addictive. I can't get enough of his voice.
22 Aug 2007, 3:21am
Why isn't Anytown Graffiti listed here? I'd do it myself but I don't see how.

Yes, It's always good to find a new great band. I hope that Anytown Graffiti winds up in all of the Top Ten lists for the year.
4 Jul 2007, 4:27pm
This guy tries really hard to sound like Bono. He does it pretty well.
26 Jun 2007, 4:16am
