Paul Rodgers (known as “The Voice”) is a vocalist known for his work in the popular British bands Free, The Firm, and Bad Company as well as his solo career. He more recently stood in on vocals on a tour with Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen as a new collaboration titled Queen + Paul Rodgers. On this tour, Paul stressed that he was not trying to replace the band’s deceased singer, Freddie Mercury, but tried his best to give his own style to the songs.

Queen and Paul parted ways amicably in 2009, with Paul remarking that he would like to get back together in the future to raise money for charity. Paul has since reunited with Bad Company, and they toured in 2010. Over the years, he’s also successfully toured and released albums with his own group centered around him. Paul is ranked number 55 on Rolling Stone magazine’s “100 Greatest Singers of All Time”. His work has been long influenced by American and , and he helped play a role in the and scenes both in the U.K. and the U.S.

Hey guys! Watch the video of a surprise that my friend and I played in a bar. We played All Right Now and Fire and Water. Excuse my English, I am Brazilian and I was a little drunk and shy with the invitation to play that night.

Paul Rodgers isn't in Queen, it was a collaberation, that's why it's called Queen+Paul Rodgers. He's not trying to replace Freddie, he doesn't try to copy him in any way, he sings the Queen songs in his style and doesn't even try to mimmick Freddie. He is a highly accomplished musician for more than 40 years who came into the project with his own style and his own library of successful music. Bohemian Rhapsody(Freddies trademark) was done with a great deal of class, most of the vocals were a recording of Freddie and Pauls part was minimal, there is no doubt in my mind Freddie would be honored. On the flip side, Queens contributions to Pauls songs are spectacular, their collaberated version of Shooting Star is by far the best version of that song I've ever heard, Brian Mays guitar on that song was incredible. Everything they did together was awesome and I know Freddie would approve of it all. As for those who feel the need to criticize, if you don't like it, don't listen, your loss.

In my mind, Paul fronting Queen is a bit like Hendrix playing guitar for Aerosmith.. a real step down in either case.

Paul Rodger was evidently, one of the greatest vocalists, with a beautiful blues voice and great vocal skill. Freddie Mercury is indeed one of the best Hard Rock singers with his strong dynamic voice, and I love him more than Paul, but Paul is definitely on a par with Freddie.

Freddie belonged to opera & classical music but obviously he couldn't fit in there because all opera singers believe they are gods (Freddie tended to become a god more or less). The best rock band in Europe should have had Paul Rodgers on vocals, Brian May (Clapton is overrated!) on guitars, a random black guy on bass (haha!) and on drums...Phil Collins (2xhaha!). Love Paul Rodgers voice: he is The Voice after all, isn't he? ;)
