28 Sep 2011, 05:29 by cat-denturesThese are albums that I've listened to in full and find to be solid from start to finish. Albums that I love every song from. Albums that get repeat plays. Mostly taking note for myself as a reminder since I go through so many and often forget albums until a year or two later BUT if you stumbled across this check some of them out anyway and maybe find a new favorite or two.
(last edit: January 13, 2013)
As of late (2013):
Widowspeak - Almanac (2013) - Warm, hazy, and haunting folk/shoegaze hybrid. Like tattered white curtains fluttering about the open windows of an abandoned cottage.
Erkin Koray - Meçhul: Singles & Rarities - Hypnotizing Turkish psychedelic rock. Technically cheating since this is a sort of Best Of album, but it's too damn good not to include here. Been listening to this for the past couple of months and it just doesn't get old.
Benjamin Lew & Steven Brown - Douzieme Journee: Le Verbe, La Parure, L'Amour (Made to Measure, Volume 15) - I don't even know, but love at first listen. …

5 Oct 2008, 21:30 by BrottarhundenThought I'd kick off this journal with a Q&A with my top 10 overall artist list. Saw someone else doing this somewhere and thought it would be cool. Here we go:
1. Tegan and Sara
2. The Beatles
3. Alanis Morissette
4. Maria Mena
5. Juliana Hatfield
6. Paul McCartney
8. Bruce Springsteen
9. Elliott Smith
10. Cat Power
Before we begin... The order above is based on played songs, and that does not always translate to favorite artists. Maria Mena and Bruce Springsteen are a bit misplaced in the Top 10. But all the more reason to write more in this journal later.
What was the first song you ever heard by 6?
Hm, first song I heard by Paul McCartney. Probably would be a Beatles song, but that doesn't really count... My dad had the Ram album and the first song is Too Many People (great song). So I'll go with that.
What is your favourite album of 2?
Another Beatles question! This is like asking which one of your children is your favourite. But I love Rubber Soul, Revolver and Abbey Road. …
